The Causes of Acne Explained And Ways You Can Treat It

Acne is undoubtedly the most common skin disorder in the world. Nearly everyone is prone to acne. The only difference is the severity, that's all. Both male and female get acne, but the condition on male is likelier to be more severe.

Acne is formed when the sebaceous glands secretes too much sebum in order to remove excessive dead skin cells from our body, which inevitably brings to the formation of acne. Basically no acne is formed without a clogged pore and hair follicle.

Sebaceous glands "receive order" from hormone androgen and secrete sebum. When the glands are too sensitive to androgen, excessive sebum is created
The sebum mix with some excessive dead skin cells become sticky and block the pores
Bacteria comes in and enjoy the sticky meal and to do that, bacteria would have to release an enzyme (lipase) to digest the sebum.
Inflammation occur when your body's immune system sends a group of white blood cells and red blood cells to kill and remove the bacteria and enzyme.

Washing your face properly is a very important aspect in not just maintaining your skin's general health and texture, a proper washing technique will also ensure your face to be able to absorb the treatment you are applying as well as improve your acne condition. Wet the cleanser / soap with some water on your palm and by using your finger tips in a circular motion, create a foam out of it.

Just How Much Money Are You Spending On Acne?

Hundreds of millions of dollars, maybe more, are spent each and every year by people all around the world. Is this really necessary? I don't think so, especially when most people are not getting results from the medicine, pills and topical ointment.

I do not know how much money you are spending every month/year to treat your acne condition, but I do know how much I "SPENT" to treat my acne. A few years ago, I was really troubled by acne, and to be honest with you, I had hundreds of them on my face, and they were swelling severely. Firstly I would spend money on OTC medicine and cosmetics treatment. OTC pills, gel (sometimes alcohol, since I had an oily face), cleansers and so on, would cost me about $100 every month.

The money spent was not worth it. I was not getting any results. After a few months, I decided that I'd better go to see a doctor. Ooh I must say the nurses and the doctors were really friendly. I enjoyed going there because I saw hope there (Since the doctors acted like my acne condition was not so bad after all). Every two weeks I would go to the clinic and reload my Accutane pills and antibiotics.

But what I didn't realize was that I was spending about $300 per visit, so I was spending $600 a month on the medical bills. It was not possible for me, a student, to pay for those bills, so I had to quit. To tell you about the results, my acne did improve very significantly. But it did not take long for the acne to come back again. And I could also see some serious side effects from the medication I took.

If you are taking those antibiotics and Accutane, you will experience side effects like joint pain, nausea, skin dryness, peeling lips skin, hair loss and so on. If you are expecting birth, taking those medication can cause defects in your baby. You can see just how serious it is. They are darn expensive and cause some serious side effects.

These two reasons were enough for me to find other better alternatives for my acne. It had taken me another 2 years time(since quitting the dermatology visits) to find out what works and what works not. Those hard learned wisdom will all be shared here in this blog. Yes, I really don't understand why people are spending money on useless products and treatments to cure their acne. Yes, the skin disorder is making everyone desperate enough that people want to get rid of acne fast, but why do people buy stuffs on manufacturer's claims? A company will put out all their advertisements on TV programs, radio talk shows, magazines and so on to make people think their product is great.

But......... I tell you what, most of them are junk. They are useless on your acne condition. And even if they work, they are overpricing their products. There are better treatment and alternatives that you should be using. These are the treatments that really gives you quality results without any side effects.

Before we go into that, I would like to apologize for the reason that I was not able to post more information articles on acne that can help you cure your acne. Instead, my blog was just a one page site recommending an excellent ebook that I have read many times.
